Body & Mind (Thoughts, feelings and emotions)

How often do we take out time just for ourselves, to relax and rejuvenate? Stress, Pressure, panic, nervousness are some words we come across on a daily basis. Do you genuinely ever feel like just taking a break? A break from the daily routine. A break from not just your daily work, but from the idea of socializing, the idea of pleasing individuals. The idea of being answerable to another. All of this sounds easy, but the realistic idea of having to do something like this seems very difficult.

Body and Mind, Mental awareness, Health

Our body is like the puppet of our mind, that functions according to every command it receives. It is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs, just like everything else in life. I believe that we create every so called illness within ourselves due to those thoughts and feelings.

A triangle of thoughts feelings and behaviours centred by life

Giving yourself the space and peace of mind to think freely and to understand the things you really want to do, enables you to perform and follow your heart.

Sometimes, we say we’re having a bad day. I’m sure we have all said this a lot in the past few months. What exactly do we mean when we say we’re having a bad day and “I don’t feel okay” or “I feel sick”? The ability of your body to take in your thoughts and feelings causes our so called “mood swings”. The mood swings affect our body performance which disables us to feel “the normal”. Our mind processes the change constantly, leading to our body underperforming which in turn is the idea of feeling low.

Body positivity is the result of positive thinking and the corresponding actions. There is a theory or a saying about external environment and its repercussions on your body and mind. Picking up an example of sharks to support this theory, a shark can only grow up to 6 inches when it’s left in a fish tank, but can grow as long as 6 feet (or more) in the ocean. This only tries to convey the idea of our body adapting to the external environment and self development to “fit in” or to imbibe the externalities. As an individual, I have had many such experiences too where the external environment requires you to behave in a different way than you actually do. This is only achievable with self awareness as it goes, with the idea of knowing one’s behavior and characteristics to act or react to certain things.

Every part of our body signifies an emotion or a thought. Not always do we picture or express it in words. Understanding the few general emotions and thoughts an individual would have in general, I have tried to characterize different parts with the association to the emotions or thoughts they express.

Head

This is the representation of what we display to the world, making an individual different or distinguishable with their thoughts, opinions and feelings. The idea of differentiation between what’s wrong and what’s right is one decision that the head makes for you.

Headaches are usually caused due the idea of invalidating yourself. The next time you feel like you’re having a headache, take a minute and think of where and how you’ve tried proving yourself wrong. Moving forward and forgiving yourself could be the easiest way to dissolve the pain.

Hair

Bagging the element right, every advertisement talks about strength. Yes, your hair displays your strength. How often do you try to up do your hair when you’re tensed or under pressure? This might sound like just the matter of convenience, but deep down it is your reaction to the stress or pressure that you control. Relaxation of the scalp is what helps your hair to be healthy. We often face the issue of hair fall, when we’re sick or undergoing some illness. This is mainly because of the thought of being unwell and weak, which is powered by the course of medications.

Female baldness has been spoken about, ever since women have been involved in the “world of business”. Tension signifies “not being strong” or following your worries. In a state like this, we do not let our body and mind to relax. It is a state where our mind occupies multiple thoughts, causing the tension to choose the one it wishes to follow.

Ears

How often have you said “I beg your pardon”? We tend to lose track of what an individual is saying, due to our capacity of concentrating and listening to another. When you think you have a problem is listening, is it really the fact the you “can’t” hear, or it about you don’t “want” to hear. At times in a conversation we only pick up or remember few words, this is because you chose to remember those. I often have a thought regarding a particular sound, taking me back to a memory or an incident that I correlate to it. This is because my mind associates those sounds to a definite thought.

An ear ache would usually signify a sense of hate or anger regarding something that was heard. People often say, it is very common for children to have ear aches. It could be because of the fact that they often have to listen to conversations at home which they ideally don’t want to.

Eyes

A monochrome picture of a girls eyes

Our eyes represent the capacity to see. Any problem with the eyes, signifies the feeling of not wanting to see something either about ourselves or the world in general. Are you afraid to see the past or the future? Our eyes allow us to visualize incidents from the past, or any related incident to take place in the foreseeable future. People wearing glasses are usually said to have a new vision or a new perspective to looking at things deeply.

Heart

A creative translucent looking image of a heart

Our heart actually doesn’t “attack” us. It is the drama we create, forgetting about the joy around us. The heart signifies love and affection, while our blood represents joy and positivity. Do you ever just feel the pain in your heart? Like something that really hurt. We often say that it is the most sensitive thing in our body, but it is also the strongest. Keeping you alive and in your element. We often come across people talking about heartbreaks, but does the heart really “break”? It is a feeling of betrayal and feeling cheated or hurt that affects every thought coming from your heart.

This article was only to put forward several views regarding our thoughts and feelings and our body and mind react to it. Thinking positively will always help dissolve pain and is an important factor in keeping you body and mind healthy!
